Some bets are more rewarding than others. 1 bet a day has been looking at all legal betting opportunities and here we discuss the risk and reward for a number of betting opportunities.

1. Grand National
The yearly prestigious horse event, Grand National, is without doubt a very rewarding event for those in the know. The winning horse this year was Pineau De Re with jockey Leighton Aspell. The odds was 25-1 for the winning horse, not bad. If betting £20 you would get £500 back if putting Pineau De Re as the winner. More info about the races and the rewarding journey can be found in the winners interview at BBC.

2. Spread betting
Another potentially highly rewarding type of betting include spread betting. Spread betting allows you to trade on price movements of shares, commodities, currencies, elections, sport or hot news events. There are few limits what you can bet on and you can partly decide the risk yourself.

3. Euromillions
One of the least likely to win but at the same time most rewarding IF you win is EuroMillions. As the name reveals, you can win millions of € – Euros – if getting all the numbers correct. The jackpot for next week is £17 million since it is a rollover. A few weeks ago, Neil Trotter hit the jackpot. He won £107.9 millions in – you guessed it – EuroMillions. More about this joyful story can be found at TheGuardian.

Sweden Vs Portugal: World Cup Play Offs http://1betaday.co.uk/sweden-vs-portugal-world-cup-play-offs/ http://1betaday.co.uk/sweden-vs-portugal-world-cup-play-offs/#comments Wed, 13 Nov 2013 16:23:18 +0000 markus http://1betaday.co.uk/?p=256

This weeks most exciting match has to bring us to Sweden where Portugal take on the swedes for a place in the World Cup and two of footballs superstars take to the stage to fight it out and unfortunately one will be missing from the world cup and those two players are of course Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Both are incredible goal scorers so you can count on both of them scoring in this game and providing that bit of magic.

It is a two legged tie and should provide good entertainment.

Portugal will go into this game as favourites for having the better team on paper but that does no mean you should discount Sweden who do have very good technical players but are probably not known on a global scale.

Safe bets would be on Portugal to qualify and both Ibrahimvic and Ronaldo scoring.

Online betting aside, online poker and casino betting are two of the fields with greatest opportunities to earn money online. Obviously, far from everyone win and there are many risks if you don’t know the game or have an unlucky day. At the same time, there are many great rewards, especially if you play tournaments where the initial deposit is rather low.

Playing online is associated with lower entry costs, since there are no entrance fee like in physical casinos. That is true for both online poker and casino. There are certain elements of luck in both of the games. Both casino and poker players can benefit from counting numbers/cards. You can play both online casino and poker from home, without going out of the door.

There are more rules and strategy to adopt in online poker compared to casino. Poker is more of a skill game, while casino is more dependent on your luck. In fact, most really good poker players are making decent money from playing online. It’s way harder to make money from casino games, regardless if you play baccarat or roulette.

Looking for a guide about poker online? Here is one in Swedish and one in English. The more you read the better you become. Never stop educating yourself. Top players spend many hours to improve their game by learning new techniques and strategies.

Tiger Woods Favourite to win Barclays http://1betaday.co.uk/tiger-woods-favourite-to-win-barclays/ http://1betaday.co.uk/tiger-woods-favourite-to-win-barclays/#comments Thu, 22 Aug 2013 15:47:00 +0000 markus http://1betaday.co.uk/?p=252

As the Barclay’s tournament begins in the US we look at who is favourite to win.

Unsurprisingly Tiger woods is the bookies favourite to win the Barclays tournament at 11/2 with Rory Mcllroy sitting in second at 12/1.

Rory Mcllroy is still searching for his best form but cannot be ruled out to win this competition with the talent he has shown throughout his career.

Tiger Woods again is arguably the worlds best golf player that we have seen but at times he has dipped in and out of form but has maintained his reputation and pulled of some amazing shots in his career and rightly goes into this tournament as favourite.

It will be interesting to see how Mcllroy does with pressure on him to do well being the new young face of Nike next to the master that is Tiger Woods.

Tiger expects the golf course to be a challenge for all golfers saying: “The golf course is obviously very different to the last time we played it.

“Not only have they made a bunch of changes but it’s really dry out and certainly last time we played it, it was not that way with the weather. The greens have got some speed to them and the fairways were giving it up so it’s going to be a heck of a test.”

Woods then went on to explain: ”The play-offs – the way they’ve been structured – are different,

“Theoretically you can win every tournament of the year and not be FedEx champion. Whoever’s in the top five, whoever wins that event wins the FedEx Cup so it’ll be interesting to see what happens.”

Benteke Betting – what is he worth? http://1betaday.co.uk/benteke-betting/ http://1betaday.co.uk/benteke-betting/#comments Wed, 10 Jul 2013 11:09:33 +0000 markus http://1betaday.co.uk/?p=234

Christian Benteke has handed in a transfer request to force out a move from Aston Villa who bought the Belgian for £7 million from Genk last summer.

He has decided to not to take part in Aston Villa’s pre-season tour in Germany and it is thought that the people around him like his agent have strongly advised him to force a move out from Villa where he had a fantastic season by scoring 19 goals in the league and played a big part in keeping Villa a float.

Tottenham look like firm favourites at 8/11 to capture the Belgian international after Benteke said a move to Tottenham would be his preferred destination and believes he can get regular football there. But Aston Villa and Tottenham are currently on bad terms after a collapse in a loan deal for Jenas.

Chelsea are also said to be interested and Villa are encouraging them to pay the £25 million price tag but Benteke does not believe he will get regular football at such a top club so that puts Chelsea in second to get the striker.

Reports from Tottenham say that they are not willing to pay the £25million and are going to wait it out to see if they can lower the price. What do you think Benteke is worth?

Brazil Vs Mexico: Confederations cup http://1betaday.co.uk/brazil-vs-mexico-confederations-cup/ http://1betaday.co.uk/brazil-vs-mexico-confederations-cup/#comments Tue, 18 Jun 2013 15:51:47 +0000 markus http://1betaday.co.uk/?p=229

The confederations cup has been rather entertaining so far with nations bringing their strongest teams along and it is both Brazil and Spain that are strong favourites to win the competition but Italy are definitely contenders but we turn our attention to Friday’s game where Mexico take on Brazil.

Mexico will go into this game with everyone expecting them to lose and will be the under dog’s but they need a good result if they are to prevail further into the competition following a 2-1 defeat to Italy but Mexico showed they are capable of beating the Brazillians as they showed in the Olympic games but this will be more difficult with more senior players and they will have to be at the top of their game defensively to hold of the likes of Neymar and Hulk and they do have an outlet through Giovani Dos Santos who has proved that he can be a problem for defenders with his quick feet.

Brazil go into this as strong favourites and on paper they are by far the better team with the majority of their player playing for top teams in Europe or at least being linked with the best and one man that Mexico will have to watch out for is the new Barcalona man Neymar who showed against Japan what he is capable of with a beautiful volley into the top corner. Also by being in their home country there is a huge pressure for Brazil to win this competition but they will have to overcome Spain at some point to do so which can be a very difficult task but they should get through the group stages with comfortably and from there they should be capable of beating the majority of teams left in the competition.

This is an easy one and I’m going to predict a 2-0 win to Brazil.

Crystal Palace Vs Watford: Match Review http://1betaday.co.uk/crystal-palace-vs-watford-match-review/ http://1betaday.co.uk/crystal-palace-vs-watford-match-review/#comments Tue, 28 May 2013 16:01:02 +0000 markus http://1betaday.co.uk/?p=223

Congratulations to Crystal palace who achieved the 1-0 win against Watford that won them the play-off final and secured their place in the premier league for next season.

On the day the better team won but I was very disappointed at Watford and the effort they put in and you could see what team wanted it more. Since their first team consist’s of so many players on loan I think that some know that they would not be playing for Watford next season and therefore they wouldn’t be playing in the premiership next season if they had won which I think was the difference mentally because the crystal palace team all know they’ve got a chance of playing in the premiership  next season.

One man that stood out yesterday was Wilfred Zaha who had an amazing performance and was a great influence for his team and deservingly was awarded man of the match. He also won the penalty that was clear as he skipped pass the defender and I pretty much got his team into the premiership. But he is on loan and will have to return to Manchester United where David Moyes will try to get the best out of the England U21. But there are talks that he could return to Palace on loan but I’m sure Moyes will want such a talented player in his team.

On the day the better team won and deservingly will be in the Premiership next season where Ian Holloway will have another crack at trying to keep his team up after coming up as he failed at Blackpool.

Bayern Munich Vs Borussia Dortmund: Champions League Final http://1betaday.co.uk/bayern-munich-vs-borussia-dortmund-champions-league-final/ http://1betaday.co.uk/bayern-munich-vs-borussia-dortmund-champions-league-final/#comments Fri, 24 May 2013 15:13:55 +0000 markus http://1betaday.co.uk/?p=218

As the season closes we all look to the big final that is yet to be settled in an all German Final at Wembley between favourites Bayern Munich Vs Borussia Dormund who have impressed in this competition.

We begin with the under dogs Borussia Dortmund who have been immense throughout this competition who were on the edge of leaving the competition until two late goals saved them from an exit and they also impressively beat Real Madrid at home 4-1 and won over the two legs to find themselves in the final. Recently they found out that one of their top players Mario Gotze will be missing from the team following an injury and coincidently has agreed a deal to join Bayern Munich in the summer. Although they are missing Gotze they still have big players in Reus and Lewandowski who can make the difference.

Following Bayern Munich’s upset last year where they lost to Chelsea on penalties at their home ground they will be looking to put that behind them and make up for the lost and destroy Borussia Dortmund as strong favourites in this final and after their demolition job on Barcelona it seems that they are they have shifted the European kings on their side and have been amazing throughout the competition beating the likes of Arsenal, Juventus and Barcelona.

I’m going to have to go with Bayern Munich, the strength and depth they have throughout the team is far superior to Borussia Dortmund but we mustn’t rule out their opponents who can be very deadly on the counter.

FA Cup Final Preview: Wigan Vs Manchester City http://1betaday.co.uk/fa-cup-final-preview-wigan-vs-manchester-city/ http://1betaday.co.uk/fa-cup-final-preview-wigan-vs-manchester-city/#comments Fri, 10 May 2013 16:04:45 +0000 markus http://1betaday.co.uk/?p=213

Manchester City will go into this game as firm favourites with the calibre of players they’ve got but this is a final and anything can happen and all players on the field will be up for the challenge.

Manchester City have seen a dip in form recently in the premier league having lost out on the title to their rivals Manchester united and have seen a defeat to Tottenham and a poor draw with Swansea at home but with the players they have they are sure to be motivated for this one and have quality in all areas of the field.

Wigan Athletic currently fighting relegation sitting in 18th and there performances have been impressive in terms of attacking but defensively they have let themselves down and struggle to play Martinez’s style of play and it will be difficult for them to hold out Manchester city. But if they can fix up their defence in time they may have a good chance because going forward they are a threat with Kone impressing all season.

I think this game has an inevitable result and there will only be one winner in Manchester City they just have too much quality throughout their team the only way they will lose is if they take Wigan for granted but even so I still think it will be extremely hard for Wigan to deal with City’s quality players in Aguero, Tevez, Silva and Toure.
